CLINICAL WORK(After Pulmonology specialty)

Continuous clinical activity having full responsibility for the coverage of patients, in Pulmonology-Intensive Care from 28-12-1987 until today, i.e. for 35 years, as Supervisor B', Supervisor A', Deputy Director of National Health System, and Member of the Faculty of Medicine. Initially at the Center for Respiratory Failure in "Sotiria" Hospital, then in the ICU of G.H. "Hippocratio", then at the Intensive Care Clinic of the NKUA in G.H. "Evangelismos" and finally at the 1st Pulmonology Clinic of NKUA in "Sotiria" Hospital. My long-term involvement in Intensive Care and Pulmonology allowed me to become familiar with and have the ability to apply in my clinical practice the interventional techniques-specialties of Pulmonology and Intensive Care, both classical and contemporary (Intensive Care and Pulmonology allowed me the familiarity and the ability to apply in my clinical practice the interventional techniques-specialties of Pulmonology and Intensive Care, both classical and more modern ECMO).

ORGANIZATION OF THE INTENSIVE TREATMENT UNIT OF THE 1ST PULMONARY CLINIC OF NKUA

Organization and operation, as Manager, of the new Intensive Care Unit of the 1st University Pulmonology Clinic at "Sotiria" Hospital from December 2009 until today. The new ICU of the 1st University Pulmonology Clinic, despite being almost completed (facility and equipment), was not operational until the end of 2009. After my move to the 1st University Pulmonology Clinic and my appointment as Manager, completion became possible, i.e., the staffing and operation of the ICU as a general Intensive Care unit with a capacity of 17 beds.
More specifically: During the operation of the ICU (January 2010 to date)

1. Approximately 2,600 patients have been treated to date.
2. Staffing was ensured with 2 faculty members and 13 NHS doctors
3. Certified to ISO 15224:2017 in 2020 and re-certified to ISO 15224:2017 in 2023
4. It was recognized assuitable for the specialization of doctors in Intensive Care (Government Gazette 50, 23/01/2012) and 9specialist positions were secured
5. 5-year medical students τstudents of EKPA are trained in the course of Intensive Care, assisting the 3rd Intensive Care Clinic
6. Nursing students of NKUA and TEI are trained in the course Intensive Care and Emergency Nursing and Intensive Care
7. Students of the "Respiratory Insufficiency-Mechanical Ventilation"Master's Program are trained
8. Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral Nursing students of the University of Ankara-Turkey are trained within the framework of the ERASMUS program
9. It has been designated as a Reference Unit for the treatment of MERS patients
10. 2020 was designated as the first Reference Unit for COVID-19. We treated a total of 424 patients with COVID-19 (mortality 28%).
11. The satisfaction of the patients was reflected in many donations which helped us to upgrade and complete our equipment, while the most important of them is in progress, which concerns the expansion of the Unit with 5 new, fully equipped, ICU beds.
12. The organization of a multicenter registry of critically ill patients with COVID-19 was achieved
13. Electronic data management of Intensive Care Unit patients was installed (electronic file)

ΚΛΙΝΙΚΟ ΕΡΓΟ (Μετά την ειδικότητα Πνευμονολογίας)

Συνεχής κλινική δραστηριότητα έχοντας πλήρη ευθύνη της κάλυψης των ασθενών, στην Πνευμονολογία-Εντατική Θεραπεία από 28-12-1987 μέχρι σήμερα, ήτοι επί 35 35 έτη, ως Επιμελήτρια Β’, Επιμελήτρια Α’, Αναπληρώτρια Διευθύντρια ΕΣΥ, και Μέλος ΔΕΠ Ιατρικής. Αρχικά στο Κέντρο Αναπνευστικής Ανεπάρκειας στο Ν. Σωτηρία, μετά στη ΜΕΘ του Γ.Ν. «Ιπποκράτειο», εν συνεχεία στην Κλινική Εντατικής Θεραπείας του ΕΚΠΑ στο ΓΝ. «Ο Ευαγγελισμός» και τέλος στη Α’ Πνευμονολογική Κλινική του ΕΚΠΑ στο Ν. Σωτηρία. Η μακρόχρονη ενασχόληση μου με την Εντατική Θεραπεία και την Πνευμονολογία μου επέτρεψαν την εξοικείωση και την ικανότητα εφαρμογής στην κλινική πράξη των παρεμβατικών τεχνικών-εξειδικεύσεων της Πνευμονολογίας και Εντατικολογίας, τόσο κλασικών, όσο και πλέον συγχρόνων(μου με την Εντατική Θεραπεία και την Πνευμονολογία μου επέτρεψαν την εξοικείωση και την ικανότητα εφαρμογής στην κλινική πράξη των παρεμβατικών τεχνικών-εξειδικεύσεων της Πνευμονολογίας και Εντατικολογίας, τόσο κλασικών, όσο και πλέον συγχρόνων ECMO).
